Checking In: The Kindness Carries On Class of 2026

A couple of months ago, our Kindness Carries On Class of 2026 packed their bags, said goodbye to home, and headed off to campuses across the country. So we did what any proud family does. We checked in.

We asked our seven recipients how their first few months have gone, what the scholarship has meant, and how they are carrying Knox’s kindness into brand new communities. What came back was homesickness and new friendships, late-night studying and sorority gumbo cook-offs, weather labs, and handwritten notes. Different schools, different majors, one shared thread: kindness carries on.

Happy Birthday Knox

September is Knox’s birthday month. To celebrate, we asked the people who loved him to share their memories.
We sent a few questions to Knox’s friends, family, and the Kindness Krew, and watched the memories pour in on Facebook too.

Kindness Champions: Voices From The Live Like Knox Foundation

Some partnerships find you exactly when you need them. That’s how Toni Patterson describes the day she first heard about the Live Like Knox Foundation — a phone call on a sunny afternoon that turned into tears, and then into one of the most meaningful partnerships Jonathan’s Place has ever known.

From the Voice of a Counselor: Yahaira Rodriguez on the Power of Kindness in Schools

As the year winds down and college students are heading home for the holidays, we wanted to check in with two of our 2025 scholarship recipients and hear how their first semester went — and how Knox’s legacy continues to show up in everyday moments on campuses across the country.
You get to hear directly from two of our 2025 Kindness Carries On Scholarship recipients, in their own words: Liam Gunningham from Texas A&M University and Audra Shioya from Boston College.

Kindness Champions: Voices from the Live Like Knox Foundation

This month, we’re proud to spotlight Brian Williams, founder of Think Kindness—a national movement that empowers students to create real, measurable waves of good in their schools and communities. Brian’s work echoes the heart of our mission at the Live Like Knox Foundation: to carry on kindness in ways that lift others, build connection, and create lasting impact.

From the Voice of Gratitude: Katie Wood on Living Like Knox

Through her book, A Simple Seed of Growth, Gratitude & Giggles, Katie helps children start each day with positivity and purpose — lessons that align perfectly with Knox’s spirit of joy, inclusiveness, and kindness.
Katie first learned about the Live Like Knox Foundation through Laine Santamaria, and later had the opportunity to speak at one of the Foundation’s events.
